People from elsewhere in Estonia have always been enticed by Võru County. This faraway place is kind of familiar, but kind of strange, too. They are us, but at the same time – not. Visitors from other places find joy in the locals’ authenticity and sincerity and their proximity to nature.
The Võro and Seto people are neighbours. The flavours unique to the area are Võro sauna-smoked meat and Seto cheese curds, Võro farm soups and Seto oven-baked porridge. Dishes from Old Võro County bear the trademark UMA MEKK, while Seto foods come with the badge Seto Küük.
