Tartu participates in major tourism fairs with South Estonia

2024. The year kicks off with major tourism fairs. This year, our fair plans include the MATKA tourism fair in Finland from 18 to 21 January, and the 2nd to 4. The Balttour tourism fair in Latvia on 8-10 February, 8-10 February. Tourest, the Estonian tourism fair, will take place on 5 February and 5-7 February. The ITB Berlin in Germany takes place on 4 March.

At the MATKA fair, we will be participating in a joint Estonian stand behind the same booth in cooperation with Tartu 2024. For MATKA we only take regional tourism materials in Finnish.

At the Balttour fair in Riga, we will be going out with a 3×4 stand with the help of companies. Visit Tartu, the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024, Vudila Spielumaa, Kalevipoja Koda, Palamuse Museum, Piusa Visitor Centre and Aura Water Centre are represented on the Balttour. We distribute general materials for the whole region (i.e. South Estonia). Businesses will be able to bring their own promotional literature to the fair. For Baltour, the cost of displaying materials is €50, while cluster members can display materials free of charge. Materials must be in Latvian.

At the Estonian tourism fair Tourest, we have conquered two larger “islands” with South Estonia in the Puhka Eestis hall, one of which we will design as Tartu 2024 and the other as the face of the South Estonia Tourism Cluster. On the surface of Tartu, Visit Tartu (Tartumaa), Onion Lake, Ice Age Centre, Tartu Capital of Culture 2024, AHHAA Science Centre, ERM, UT Museum, Aura and VOCO tourism department will be exhibiting separately.

On the South-Estonian side, Põlvamaa, Võrumaa, Valgamaa and Jõgevamaa are represented, as well as Värska Resort, Kubija Hotel-Loodusspaa, Maanteemuuseum, Palamuse Museum, Vudila Playland, Kalevipoja koda, Kupland, Piusa Visitor Centre and Kuremaa Experience Centre. Tourest is free of charge for South-Estonian Tourism Cluster members to bring their publications to the event. For businesses outside the tourism cluster, it costs €61 to send Tourest promotional leaflets. Preference will be given to materials in Estonian, and the maximum quantity is 100. Depends of course on the size and weight of the materials!

In addition, we will participate in a joint Estonian stand at ITB Berlin. We will only share general material from the region.
